Why We Do It

The short answer to this is because it is the right thing to do.

We feel that it is important to remind people that they can make a difference. It is important that we teach our children the importance of helping others, "Paying It Forward". Because when someone does a "Pay it Forward" project, no matter how big or how small, it makes a HUGE difference in someones life.

Local Agencies

All agencies require: Picture I.D., Social Security Card, Proof of Residence, and Proof of Income.

Provides assistance with: Food pantry, meals, clothing, emergency relief, showers, laundry, Christmas outreach program.

Toys for Tots -
Provides assistance with: Toys for children at Christmas time.

Salvation Army -
Provides assistance with: clothing referrals, food, utilities, home delivered Mobile Meals, which is partially funded by Title III through Real Services, and seasonal assistance.

Faith Mission -
Provides assistance with: 3 meals a day, emergency shelter, long-term programs, counseling, clothing

Church Community Servcies - .
Provides assistance with: Food pantry, emergency financial assistance for those at 150% of poverty level. Job and life skills training for low-income women.

Womens Care Center/B.A.B.E -
Provides assistance with: Unplanned pregnancy.

Harvest Basket -
Provides assistance with: Food for people 60 and older or people with disabilities that are 18 or over.

Susannas Kitchen -
Provides assistance with: A noon meal and clothing.

Family Services -
Provides assistance with: Counseling, Domestic violence, Homelessness, Life skills, Low income, Mental Health, Parenting Education, Self sufficiency, Transitional housing

G.A.P. Grandparents as Parents -
Provides assistance with: The following services to grandparents raising grandchildren and other relative caregivers: legal assistance, mediation, counseling, support groups, referrals, clothing bank, public awareness, advocacy, help start groups

Habitat for Humanity -
Provides assistance with: Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County builds and sells houses to low income families on a no-profit, no-interest basis

Hope Ministries -
Provides assistance with: Hope serves the “least advantaged” members of our community. We define the least advantaged as those who lack the skills, resources and opportunities to provide stable and healthy lives for themselves and their families

Soldiers Angels
Soldiers Angels has over 20 different teams and programs supporting all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. They send letters, care packages, and comfort items to the deployed, and support their families here at home. They also provide assistance to the wounded, continuing support for veterans, remembrances and comfort for families of the fallen, and immediate response to unique difficulties.
